History of Block Panchayat
Koduvally Block started functioning in 1959 as a result of continuous efforts by a popular committee led by P.T. Alikutty Haji, an early public activist in Koduvally. The block office initially began in a small room inside a building owned by M.P. Abu Sahib, a gold merchant. The popular committee raised funds to purchase one acre of land from Uliyadan Kunnummal Vellan. P.K. Pareekutty Adhikari, the Koduvally Panchayat President and a prominent public figure, donated an additional one acre of land for free. A permanent building for the block office was constructed on this two-acre plot. In 1961, the Minister for Local Self-Government, P.P. Ummar Koya, inaugurated the new building.
